3D World Expo film to get public screenings
People in Liverpool are being given the chance to experience the spectacular 3D film promoting the city on the world stage.
The announcement was made at an event held for sponsors of Liverpool’s presence at the World Expo yesterday (28th July) who were addressed by Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive of Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), Chief Executive of Liverpool Vision Max Steinberg and Liverpool City Council Cabinet Member, Cllr Nick Small.
The 10 minute 3D journey around the city and region was produced by Liverpool production company River Media and has so far been shown to over 300,000 visitors to the Liverpool Pavilion at the World Expo in Shanghai.
People from across the region will get the chance to see the film which is being screened at three events in August, September and October.
It will be screened at the Beatles Story’s second site in the Mersey Ferry Terminal. Those viewing the Liverpool Expo film will also get chance to sample the Beatles Story’s new Fab4D experience in a state of the art theatre and explore White Feather: the Spirit of Lennon, which tells the intimate personal story of the life of the Lennon family; for the first time presented as an exclusive exhibition.
Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive of NWDA, commented at the event on the success of the Expo so far. He said: “It is encouraging to see the impact our presence at the Expo is already having on North West businesses. It’s clear that hearts, souls and intelligent minds have combined to ensure that the Expo is already delivering real results and generating an overwhelmingly positive response from around the world, even being voted the most entertaining and informative Pavilion on the Urban Best Practice Area beating Barcelona, Madrid, Venice, Hamburg and many other leading world cities.”
Max Steinberg, Chief Executive of Liverpool Vision, added: “There has been a collective drive in the region to ensure the Expo delivers real long term benefits to the region.
“The support from the NWDA, Liverpool City Council and all the sponsors has of course been absolutely invaluable. Without their involvement there simply would not be a Liverpool presence at the Expo, nor would we be able to have strengthened our proposition in successfully promoting the region as a whole.
“The entire region can now look forward to realizing the economic potential of that investment which, in the current climate, will be hugely important to the North West.”
The showcase film will be open to the public on three dates – 25th August, 22nd September and 20th October with access from 6:30pm until 8:00pm.
Liverpool City Council Cabinet Member for Employment and Skills, Cllr Nick Small, said: “Opening the film to the public is a great way to bring the action and excitement from Shanghai home. People can see for themselves why the Liverpool Pavilion has proved such a success in Shanghai.”
People wishing to attend should call Liverpool Vision on 0151 600 2900 or email: info@liverpoolvision.co.uk. There is a maximum of two tickets per person and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
