Sponsors Shanghai Breakfast
The organisers of Liverpool’s presence at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai are holding a breakfast meeting at Liverpool Arena and Convention Centre to update sponsors on latest developments.
The event on Wednesday, March 10 from 8.30-11am will cover a new fly-through for the Liverpool Pavilion, the events schedule and useful information on available business support.
The Liverpool Pavilion is to be a showcase for the dynamic creativity and enterprise which is embodied by the city and will also position Liverpool as the gateway to England’s North West, telling the story of the region’s diversity, scale and the exceptional quality of its culture and outstanding natural environments.
One of the chief attractions to draw visitors to Liverpool’s presence will be a virtual 3D journey from Shanghai to Liverpool. Using the latest technology, visitors will be carried up the River Mersey and over the city, before being given a fly-over view of the North West’s major attractions.
Every month will see a new theme emerge covering all activity within the Pavilion. The themes, allow different organisations to select the most appropriate time to attend the Expo, starting in May with gateway to the North West (ports, property development and airports); June - science and technology; July - culture, health and sport; August - knowledge sector; September - financial and professional services sector and October - urban regeneration.
Mike Taylor, director of investment and enterprise at Liverpool Vision and Creative Director for Liverpool at World Expo 2010, said the event was designed to ensure that sponsors can make the most of the opportunities available: “With 50 days to go to the start of World Expo, this is an opportunity for everyone to ask questions and for sponsors to make the right connections with each other, as well as help us ensure that the events we collectively put together in Shanghai reflect each organisation’s objectives.”
