Three more back Liverpool in London
Three more organisations have pledged their support to the ‘Liverpool in London’ mission.
Liverpool law firm DWF, award-winning design agency Uniform and civil and structural engineer consultancy Sutcliffe to become members of the city’s London office.
They join Tender Management Consultancy, Merseytravel, NSG, USP Creative, the Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool, Benmore and Ian Robinson & Associates of Knowsley who have signed up until September this year.
Liverpool’s London office, formerly known as the ‘Embassy’, is now in its second phase and is based at the former home of the Royal Mint at Royal Mint Court, Tower Hill.
Chris Heyes, who heads up the London office for Liverpool Vision, said: “Public sector investment often opens the way for private sector participation and since the beginning of Liverpool in London our companies have wanted to drive our presence in the capital.
“These three are not only supporting us they are giving up their time and helping to manage our time in London through our steering group.
“Those that have supported us so far are enjoying the benefits of having a presence in the capital, meeting some of the city’s movers and shakers, having increased access to international markets and creating new business opportunities for themselves.”
Membership of Liverpool’s London office gives an organisation a London office address, from where they can work, use the meeting facilities and more easily plot an expansion into the London market.
The office is supported full time by Liverpool staff which acts as a point of contact and ensures meetings run smoothly. Staff can also provide business connections and invitations to relevant events.
John Sutcliffe, managing director of Sutcliffe said: “Having a base in London from where we can more easily access the largest market in the UK and sell our service is vital and I hope that others can follow our lead.
“This office is about growing the opportunity which in turn can help grow business and improve perceptions of Liverpool and everyone in Liverpool has both a stake in that and a role to play.”
Cllr Joe Anderson, leader of Liverpool City Council said: “Less than two months after welcoming another four new sponsors I am now thanking a further three for backing our London ambition.
“Our continued presence in London depends on support from the private sector, because we need to continue to push the wide-ranging Liverpool offer and the many opportunities for inward investment which exist here, particularly in the current economic climate.
“Our London base provides a low cost, high quality platform for our supporters to break into the lucrative south east market and grow their businesses and I hope yet more will appreciate the benefits of supporting us.”
