Sir Paul McCartney to play Christmas gig at Liverpool’s Echo Arena

Paul McCartney is to round off a memorable year with a homecoming gig at the Echo Arena.

The former Beatle, cultural icon, and one of the best live musicians performing today, will return to the city of his birth, a year to the day after an intimate gig at the O2 Academy.

Sir Paul, who in July was voted the Best Live Act of the year at the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards, will kick off his “On The Run” tour in Abu Dhabi next month before rocking and rolling through Russia and Europe.

The finale of the 11-date tour will be at the Echo Arena on December 20.

Sir Paul said: “Playing live is one of the most exciting parts of my job.

“I'm really looking forward to the next run of shows, and to playing places that I have never played before with my band.

“I'll be starting with my first-ever UAE concert, and from there I’m on the run across Europe and Russia, before finally getting back to my hometown of Liverpool in time for Christmas.

“My audiences seem to get better each year, and the band and I love the buzz and feedback that they give us.”

TICKETS go on sale on Thursday October 13 at 9am.
