Olympics showcase at Echo Arena attracts top athletes
Liverpool's countdown to the 2012 Olympics began with an activity packed day at the ECHO Arena complete with special guests.
City-born bronze medal winner at the 2004 Athens games Steve Parry was on hand to take part in a festival of Olympic sports designed to showcase some of the events which will be taking centre stage at this summer’s Games and Paralympic Games.
Three time world champion gymnast Beth Tweddle and Atlanta 1996 bronze medal winning high jumper Steve Smith also attended to watch displays in events including table tennis, taekwondo, hockey and canoe polo.
