Liverpool set to approve Peel/Barratt's plan for 268 homes

Planning officers in Liverpool have recommended for approval a plan by Peel Holdings and Barratt Homes to build 268 homes near the airport.

In a report they have described the 19-acre scheme, which will front on to Speke Hall Avenue, as a "bespoke choice" of "well-designed" residential accommodation.

"The proposal can be delivered without compromising highway and pedestrian safety, local ecological characteristics and residential amenity, including the impacts on crime and anti-social behaviour."

They are advising councillors to give it a green light at the meeting on November 29 with conditions which include a contribution of £200,000 to open space improvements and £25,000 for public art.

The plans comprise two and three-storey properties, providing two, three and four bedroom family houses.
