Liverpool is ready to bloom with opening of new Dobbies Garden World
Liverpool is going green this weekend as a new £8m Dobbies Garden World opens its doors.
The 50,000 sq ft centre was officially opened by green-fingered nine-year-old competition winner Anna Robinson and celebrity gardener Chris Beardshaw.
Dobbies, on Speke Boulevard will create 120 jobs and was welcomed by Liverpool South MP Maria Eagle.
She said: “I wish Dobbies and their staff the very best for the future. I’m sure the centre will be a success.
TV presenter Chris Beardshaw praised Woolton primary school Bishop Martin C.E. for its involvement.
He said: “Their design ideas and enthusiasm to engage with plants and the outdoor environment is extremely heartening.”
