Liverpool Economy Forum Event
Tuesday morning saw some seventy delegates from the business community gather at Radisson BLU for the launch of the Liverpool Economy Forum.
A panel of speakers, including Mike Taylor and Nicola Gleave from Liverpool Vision and Cllr Gary Millar presented the outline for the much talked about ‘Liverpool Plan’.
The Liverpool Plan is a strategy put together by Liverpool Vision, with representatives from the private sector, to maintain the momentum from The World Expo in Shanghai and continue to market and position Liverpool as a World Class city.
The campaign will be a combination of visual and online communication and entails two brand signifiers, ‘I’m Liverpool and ‘It’s Liverpool’. Campaign co-ordinators are keen for this project to encourage Liverpool businesses to engage more with social media; and a bespoke app has been designed to promote inward investment.
A three tier partner structure has been outlined to make the initiative accessible to a wide demographic and allow a diverse range of businesses to align with and support the campaign.
A sub-group from the project team has been tasked with outlining clear targets and objectives to measure its success.
Cllr Gary Millar says: “Liverpool has heart, passion and a fire in its belly. There’s a sense of pride that’s contagious. We need to roll this out across the rest of the UK.”
