Centric Property Group plans new office space in Liverpool
One property development firm has recently purchased 4.6 acres, with plans to eventually construct more than £82,000 square feet of new warehouse and office space in Liverpool.
Centric Property Group has begun office space planning efforts for its planned £6 million speculative development in South Liverpool’s Estuary Commerce Park, sources say. The firm acquired the land, which is situated in close proximity to Liverpool Airport, from Liverpool Vision for a sum of £1 million.
The office space development, to be named Estuary Banks once completed, has plans to incorporate ecologically sound and sustainable technologies in order to be rated Excellent by BREEAM. Barnfield construction has already been tapped to be the primary contractor on site, and if Centric Property’s planning application is approved, construction will begin later in 2011, sources say.
Set to benefit from the European Regional Development Fund’s contribution of more than £2.5 million in capital, the scheme has set its sights on attracting a wide range of potential occupiers. Both the knowledge and bio-pharmaceutical sectors are two industries Centric Property has said they are interested in courting.
One of five Liverpool areas identified as a target for strategic investment opportunities, Estuary Commerce Park resides within what has been come to be known as the South Liverpool International Gateway. The region has received recognition for not only how important it is economically to Liverpool city centre but also the entire North West region as well.
With €755 million in funds to invest by the end of 2013, the European Regional Development Fund has been instrumental in bringing effective change to both businesses and people in the North West. The ERDF has been supporting new growth in enterprise and employment, by bringing the economy of the region enhanced competitiveness, one expert said.
