Ace DJ wants you to be heard

Radio 1Xtra’s, Ace, is the latest music industry insider to help aspiring artists and music entrepreneurs achieve success.

DJ Ace, one half of ‘The Troublemakers of Radio’ with DJ Vis, will join 1Xtra’s Head of Music, Laura Lukanz on the panel of the ‘Play this’ masterclass organised by Merseyside ACME, part of Liverpool Vision, which takes place at Leaf, Bold Street, 16 November 2011, 4–5.30pm

The masterclass will help delegates negotiate the world of music pluggers, how to achieve personal access to DJs and how to make money through repeated plays on the radio and television.

Also on the panel will be Ray Paul of The Playmaker Group and co-founder of Radio1Xtra; Cat Park of Mushroom TV Group, Channel AKA, Starz TV and Lava TV; and Chris Meehan, director of Sentric Music.

Kevin McManus, director of Merseyside ACME, said: “Arguably the hardest part of the music industry is getting on a play list.

“Bands, artists and managers all need airplay to thrive and grow and to make money. This seminar has been designed to give Liverpool’s aspiring performers better understanding of how the industry works from those who are on the inside.

“With Ray Paul we have lined a very experienced panel of experts to give advice on how to break on through – what they don’t know about getting airplay is not worth knowing.”
