Small MIPIM presence for big story

Small MIPIM presence for big story

Liverpool Vision’s deputy chief executive told delegates at MIPIM 2011 that the biggest regeneration project in the UK over the next ten years will create significant investment and business opportunities in Liverpool.

Mike Taylor lead a small team of three at MIPIM (Marché International des Professionels d’Immobilier), the world’s biggest property fair held annually in Cannes, from March 8-11.

This year, Liverpool linked up with the Place UK stand, located in the Riviera Hall, R27.18 – the city’s former space - and Mike Taylor gave a presentation on the on-going regeneration projects on the City’s iconic waterfront on Wednesday, March 9 at 1530.

He said: “Liverpool has enjoyed an incredible year since the last MIPIM event, which was again a very successful week in Cannes. Even though the city’s presence has been scaled down again Liverpool’s ambition is as strong as ever.

“We come to MIPIM this year on the back of our multi-award winning presence at the World Expo in Shanghai and having opened a business ‘embassy’ in the heart of the City of London, both of which are already reaping economic benefits for the city.

“This year is an important one for Liverpool, as we continue to face robustly the economic challenges and there is so much happening to give us confidence in the future. In 2011 we will see the opening of the Museum of Liverpool and Mann Island, as well as continuing large scale retail, office and residential development in the city centre.

“During the course of the next decade Liverpool will also be the location of what is set to be the UK’s largest regeneration scheme with Liverpool and Wirral Waters.

“I hope many businesses will take this opportunity to meet us at the Place UK stand to discuss what opportunities they can take advantage of in Liverpool in the years ahead.”
