Liverpool's creative community has benefited from a new-look networking website to help grow their business.

The website, originally launched in 2006 and which already has more than 4000 members, will now have enhanced features including the chance for members to showcase their talents to non-members.

The radical new look for the site was revealed on Wednesday, February 23rd at Parr Street Studios to some of the city’s most influential creative movers and shakers, when renowned designer Jon Barraclough talked through the changes and opportunities.

Kevin McManus, director of Liverpool Vision-based Merseyside ACME, which runs the Kin2Kin website, said: “There’s never been a more important time for making new contacts and keeping in touch with fellow creatives and business contemporaries and this new site is designed to help with that process.

“Kin2Kin.co.uk will continue to do what it has always done, namely provide a strong united voice for the creative community as well as raising company profiles and helping in the quest for new business opportunities.

“Significantly, though and for the first time, Kin will allow non-members viewing access to member profiles providing an unparalleled showcase for the best of the region’s creative talent.”

The new site will also feature an enhanced news feed, enhanced functionality allowing members the option of uploading their own material, news and links as well as social bookmarking.

The Parr Street event will also give guests the first chance to hear about a forthcoming unique initiative in Liverpool’s creative sector, called ‘Creative Opportunities.’

Creative Opportunities will be a free online recruitment tool designed for students and graduates in Liverpool, supported by the city’s Higher Educational establishments and private business in the creative sector.
