North Liverpool / South Sefton Strategic Regeneration Framework
Liverpool City Council’s Regeneration Select Committee undertook a major review of North Liverpool in 2009, the major conclusion of which was the need for Partners to jointly commission a long term Strategic Regeneration Framework (SRF) for North Liverpool / South Sefton.
The SRF was drawn up by Planning Consultants DPP Shape in Partnership with Liverpool and Sefton Councils, Liverpool Vision, The Northwest Development Agency, Homes and Communities Agency and Government Office North West. The Strategy has been informed by two major Stakeholder events.
An enormous amount of progress has been made in Liverpool, particularly the City Centre and South Liverpool over the past ten years. Progress in these areas has been guided by long term ambitious plans which highlight opportunities, join up activity and partners – getting everyone working in the same direction. It is hoped that over time the SRF for North Liverpool will have a similar beneficial effect.
The publication of the SRF very much represents the start of a long term concerted effort to promote the development of the area and create a thriving place ready for investment with a quality residential and business environment where residents share in the benefits of this increased economic activity.
Whilst our strategy must be long term, there are many immediate opportunities, and major projects progressing in 2011.
