Business advice to help you keep on truckin’

THE IBM Technology Truck rolls into Liverpool next week handing out advice to small and medium businesses.

Organised by Liverpool Business Continuity Management Forum IBM’s truck will be in Williamson Square from 10:00-17:00 on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd February 2011.

Experts will be on hand to discuss a range of business continuity and disaster recovery related subjects, including:

•See how Business Continuity Planning can help your business recover more effectively from a number of impacts which could affect you from continuing with ‘business as usual’, such as loss or denial of premises, reduced staffing levels, loss of utilities (electricity, gas, water), loss of IT or being let down by a key supplier

•Protecting critical applications within your organisation can be very important. System failures, human error, power outages and natural disasters put businesses and critical information at risk of being inaccessible for extended periods or worse, permanently lost

•"Cloud computing" and "Cloud backup" are hot topics in the market right now. Come along and learn what these terms mean and more importantly, how they can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of your disaster recovery efforts, simplifying the process and reducing the costs

Liverpool Vision, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and City Central BID will also be offering advice and Phil Linley, Liverpool Vision’s East Liverpool business manager, said: "A lot of businesses are under pressure to deal mainly with day-to-day issues and have difficulty finding time to look at "what happens if" situations such as major failures of services.

“The work that the Business Continuity Forum do in raising awareness of such issues amongst SMEs is vital and the arrival of the IBM Technology Bus will allow business owners and managers to explore such issues with knowledgeable experts."

No appointments are necessary.
