ACC reveals new arena plan
ACC Liverpool is bidding to attract a range of new events to Liverpool by launching a fresh arena layout for smaller audiences of up to 4,000.
The space will be created at the D end of the arena and aims to create an "auditorium-style formation" with the rest of the 10,000-capacity venue closed off.
“The new layout will enable us to bring even more top acts to the city,” said the arena’s general manager Tim Banfield. “Using the space in this way reduces costs and makes it easier for production companies to load in their equipment and is a direct response to industry feedback.
“The new space will be intimate, creating a superb atmosphere for acts which don’t want to play to a massive arena audience, and will enable fans to feel like they are really close to the performers.”
He added: “For some performers, the city’s other long-standing venues are simply too small, while the entire Echo Arena is too big. This fills the middle ground and creates a whole new type of venue where fans are closer to the stage.”
